  • About Laura

Throughout my experiences walking alongside women, I’ve come to recognize that women face additional barriers and expectations that hold us back. Many of us encounter so many feelings of guilt, unfulfilled desire, confusion or disbelief in ourselves. We don’t often take the time to regularly sit with ourselves, learning about who we are and what matters most to us. How do we get to a place where we actually know which voice in our head is ours when we’ve been taught and heard so much about what it means to be a woman.

I can’t tell you what a good life looks like for you and there’s no one right way of living a good life. The beautiful thing about life is that what you want and how you want it to look, looks different for all of us. I can tell you that we all desire to feel love, to have joy in our existence, to feel like we have freedom to do what we want and pursue a life that excites us. This messaging has really been lost. The idea that it’s not only ok but also important to prioritize yourself has been lost in the expectations and roles that women are pressured into.

I have a Masters of Social Work and have worked in addictions recovery, supported women through relationship and intimate violence trauma, have worked with newcomers and with youth’s whose lives feel so hopeless that life doesn’t feel like it is worth living. I believe that life is not only worth living but that it is meant to be a joyous, deep experience full of wonder and growth. I take an approach that is eclectic and individualized. We often don’t even realize how many beliefs we hold about ourselves that are holding us back. My hope is to support you in honouring your story and framing it in a way that recognizes your strengths and individuality. I want to guide you in getting curious about yourself, romancing who you are and learning to love every part of you. At the end of our time together my hope is that you have a sense of clarity and feel empowered to take yourself on that path you’ve discovered, navigating and moving forward on your own.
